Production Facilities & Equipment Hire

Bang! in partnership with The Broadway Media Centre can offer facilities and equipment hire for your production.

Once you become a member of Broadway you can have access to the facilities at a subsidised rate.

All hire equipment is subject to a 15% insurance charge and V.A.T. @ 17.5%

The Broadway also run training courses in scriptwriting, directing and camera & lighting and other film and video based skills.

There are also edit suite facilities and a studio space available.

The projector lens has to be attached to the projectors in advance so we have provided a lens calculator to find the appropriate lens. You will need the distance you wish to throw the projection and the width of the screen.

Opening times

Broadway box office is open from 10.00am to 8.00pm weekdays and 12.00pm till 7.00pm at weekends. Kit can be collected and returned between these times only by prior arrangement.

Booking

Broadway's equipment is available to any of its members who are competent to use it. Broadway would encourage inexperienced members either to undertake some level of training or find an experienced person who can help them.
Equipment is hired per 24 hours. A weekend is classed as one day.

Cancellation

A cancellation fee of up to the full value of the hire will be levied if the cancellation is made with 24 hours of collection.

Collection and return of equipment

At the time of booking the times for collection and return of equipment must be arranged within stated opening times.
If equipment is returned later than agreed a `late return fee' will be levied at the discretion of staff.

Payments

All invoices must be paid upon collection of equipment unless otherwise arranged.
Payments are to be made at the Broadway box office in the main entrance of the building. Broadway accepts cash, credit card and cheque payments provided they are made with a current banker's card.

Rates

Rates maybe altered depending on the scale of the project and the dates of hire at the discretion of Broadway staff.

Restrictions

All productions made by using Broadway equipment or facilities must credit the organisation.

Care of equipment and insurance

During the period of hire members should be aware that the equipment is their responsibility and they must; look after it at all times and ensure that it is properly used. Transport it safely and ensure that it is locked up in a secure place when not in use. Report any fault or damage to Broadway ASAP. Broadway shall not be liable for any damage, loss or defect to equipment caused by negligence or misuse whilst on hire. The cost of repair will be paid for by the hirer.
The equipment must not be:used in hazardous or dangerous situations, left unattended in a vehicle. IF THE EQUIPMENT IS LEFT IN AN UNATTENDED VEHICLE IT IS NO LONGER COVERED BY BROADWAY'S INSURANCE. IF IT IS THEN STOLEN THE MEMBER WILL BE LIABLE FOR THE FULL COST OF REPLACING THE EQUIPMENT.
In the event of the equipment being stolen, it is the responsibility of the member to notify the Police immediately and provide Broadway with all necessary details to file an insurance claim. The hirer will be required to pay the first £250 of any insurance claim which arises from equipment items damaged, lost or stolen when in the hirer's possession.

NTI Note

Items marked (see NTI Note) are made available to members of Broadway by the New Technology Initiative (NTI) at a reduced rate for the encouragement of research and development and the promotion of regional creative products and services.
The NTI was set up to provide access to advanced digital technology for East Midlands creative practitioners and small companies looking to develop new skills that will benefit their business and the region as a whole.
The Creative Collaboration project would expect users to attend and contribute to training sessions and be willing to assist in feeding back their experiences to regional students in an approriate manner.
Hirers will be required to provide photographs or video footage of the equipment in operation.
